Il valore di un autore non lo si misura sulla base delle sue vendite in vita quanto piuttosto sul persistere della sua influenza nel tempo e da questo punto di vista H.P. Lovecraft è fuor di dubbio uno degli autori del fantastico più importanti di sempre, al punto di essere diventato un "aggettivo" ben preciso.

La sua opera ispira centinaia di autori ancor oggi e riverbera attraverso svariate arti e media ma ogni volta che esce qualche nuovo volume lovecraftiano è sempre occasione importante per riflettere sui messaggi, le tecniche e la figura anche personale di questo grandissimo scrittore.

E il volume in questione, pubblicato da Aklo Press, promette di aggiungere tentacolari tasselli a un puzzle cosmico che non sarà mai completo ma sempre più terrorizzante e weird. L'idea di Aklo Press è di quelle che bisognerebbe replicare spesso, in particolare per quanto riguarda le antologie: accoppiare a ogni racconto una illustrazione, offrendo così una giusta vetrina anche a grafici, pittori, disegnatori e tutto l'insieme dei visual artist che spesso ha a disposizione solo il ristretto spazio della copertina.
